Different Soakaway Crates [Geocellular Crates]

You know those cool honeycomb-like things you see in construction? They're called geocells, and they basically come in two main flavors: ones that help keep soil and gravel in place, and others that act like structural foundations for soakaways, for stormwater

Being from the rainy city and in the surfacing business I see them often. And judging by the research you will see that they come from all iver the world. Before our plastics expert joins us to start judging different brands, I thought we would get familiar with them first.

Geocells for Keeping Soil Put

GEOWEB / Geoweb cellular confinement system:

Imagine a super strong plastic honeycomb. That's this! It's awesome for holding up heavy stuff and stopping dirt from washing away. Think of it as a superhero for hillsides and walls, and it even helps manage fast-moving water by squishing soil or gravel into place.

BaseLok GeoCell:

This system is all about making sure the ground underneath is super stable. It also fights erosion on slopes and in watery channels. Plus, you can stack these bad boys up to build retaining walls. Pretty neat, huh?

TERRAM Geocells:

These are like fabric geocells. They're great for stabilizing soil and stopping erosion. They even protect tree roots and help out with flood defense. The cool part is they let water flow through and encourage plants to grow.

TCS Techcell Geocellular Confinement:

This is a tough plastic mat that comes in different thicknesses. It's perfect for making sure the ground is stable and protecting surfaces and slopes from erosion.

TYPAR GeoCell / CS & GS Series:

These are like fabric honeycombs that come in panels. They're used to stabilize slopes and stop erosion. You can also fill them with soil, sand, or even recycled stuff to hold things in place.

Stormwater Storage Systems (Underground Rain Catchers)

AquaCell Eco:

These are like building blocks for catching rainwater. They're made from special material and are perfect for places where cars won't be driving, like your backyard garden.

Stormbloc Extra:

This is another system for storing and soaking up urban runoff. It's tough enough to go under busy roads and parking lots.

Rigofill stormwater storage system:

These are plastic blocks with lots of empty space inside. They're used to hold stormwater when it can't just disappear into the ground naturally. They let you either slowly release the water or keep it for later.

AquaCell NG(Next Gen):

These are modern tanks for managing surface water. They're made from 100% recycled plastic – how cool is that? You can use them for drainage ditches, trenches, and to control water discharge in neighborhoods and parking lots.

Modular stormwater units:

These are PVC honeycomb structures with a lot of empty space. They're used in sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) to temporarily hold or soak up stormwater under various surfaces.

ACO StormBrixx:

Everyone in the biz know the word Aco, its those strip grill drainage systems that took off after the SuDS regularions in 2008. This is a plastic system for managing stormwater. You can set it up to either hold water temporarily or let it soak into the ground. It's super flexible for different construction sites as part of SuDS plans.

On-plot attenuation system:

This is a modular solution for catching stormwater right where it falls, like on individual properties. It helps manage big water flows from roofs and tricky drainage issues.

Stormcell stormwater storage:

This is a budget-friendly underground system for storing stormwater. It uses a plastic matrix with lots of voids. It's great for putting under areas to help prevent flooding in existing cities and new developments.

AquaCell Core-R:

These are modular units designed for installations under really heavy traffic, like cars and big trucks.

AquaCell Plus-R:

These are units for holding water that are designed so you can easily check inside the tank. They can be used in all sorts of places, from light-traffic areas to super busy zones.

Q-Bic Plus:

This is a sustainable drainage system for stormwater management. It can be a storage tank or a soakaway, and it's especially handy when you need to get inside the tank for maintenance.

Polystorm system:

This is a light and modular geocellular system. It helps hold, slow down, and soak up water for flood and surface-water control, working well in different depths and site conditions.

SDS GEOlight Tank:

This is a geocellular tank made from recycled PVC honeycomb modules. It's fantastic for holding a lot of surface water, letting it soak in, or reusing it to help prevent floods. .
